Greystones & Delgany SEC

GDSEC Free Home Energy Audit

With booking availability from 1st November to 28th February each year, this practical exercise will help you understand your energy consumption and where best to focus for savings and future energy upgrades. Please note that this is not a BER assessment, it’s more like a “BER-lite”. Check out our FAQ’s below for more…

What is involved?
A quick survey of walls, ceilings and window surrounds to identify thermal leaks; checking the temperature of your fridge and freezer to see if they are set correctly; measuring room temperature and humidity levels; understanding energy use and running cost of appliances you nominate; and assessing if water flow of hot taps & showerheads in your bathroom are optimised for reduced water heating costs.

How much does it cost?
Absolutely nothing! This is a free service provided by Greystones and Delgany SEC in conjunction with Greystones Tidy Towns to help make our wonderful local community even more sustainable.

How long does it take?
Our energy audit volunteer, (Dave), will call to your house for a quick 30-40 minute assessment. He will then compile and email your results along with energy saving measures you can take to further reduce your energy bills and carbon footprint.

What do I need to provide?
The easy to answer information needed prior to the audit is requested in the short “Home Energy Audit Form” that first needs to be filled out. See “how can I book” below.

What data will you share?
All personal data will not be shared with anyone except you. You are completely protected under GDPR rules.

How can I book?
If within the November-February programme window, simply click on https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe1R91s-6ZoobBiDJ5Lvpvz6_mGMYKRbUtAwAZJSxNnq5Lr9Q/viewform and fill out the short form. We will then be in touch with you to arrange a suitable date and time for the home energy audit.
